Transient growth in a flat plate boundary layer under a stream with uniform shear

چکیده

One of the simplest problems involving external vorticity in boundary layer flows is flow over a semi-infinite plate under stream uniform shear. We study transient growth phenomenon this to investigate role freestream shear on energy amplification and analyze differences with Blasius flow. The initial optimal disturbance that triggers maximum found be streamwise vortices, as other flows. Compared layer, higher optimum larger spanwise wavelength vortices have been observed. provide scaling laws for amplification, which increase exponentially gradient.
